Elite Status Award for Sharp Community Medical Group
Sharp HealthCare's affiliated medical group, Sharp Community Medical Group, has been awarded "Elite Status" by America's Physician Groups (APG) — the organization's highest ranking — as part of its 2019 Standards of Excellence™ survey. This is the tenth consecutive year APG, the nation's leading professional organization of accountable physician groups, has recognized Sharp Community Medical Group.
This is the highest possible honor awarded by the nation's leading association for physician organizations practicing coordinated care.
To achieve Elite Status, organizations must receive five-star ratings in six publicly reported domains: Care Management Practices, Information Technology, Accountability and Transparency, Patient-Centered Care, Group Support of Advanced Primary Care and Administrative and Financial Capability. The threshold for achieving a star in each domain is set annually by an APG peer committee that analyzes survey performance.
"This award is a testament to the quality work and excellence provided by the physicians of Sharp Community Medical Group in patient satisfaction, quality of medical care and the coordination of services provided to the patients of Sharp Community Medical Group," said Kenneth Roth, President of Sharp Community Medical Group.
